2019 showed a record 6,776 homeruns were hit in major league baseball. The last record was set in 2017 with 6,105. Ironically, both years the juiced baseball issue came up.
In previous years there were theories that the stitching on the balls was smaller and tighter, rubber centers replaced cork and steroid use contributed to the power surge. Either way, when you see the ten year veteran with three career homers hit twenty-five in one season, it's time to adjust your fantasy baseball roster accordingly. As the season draws to a close, I'll sadly await another spring training.
