Trump's Star: Behind Bars

I think this is really funny. This street artist dude in Hollywood has a great sense of justice -- and humor. He's placed bars over Donald Trump's star in the Walk of Fame, and it's just his latest effort to give Trump his due.

Check out the video from CNN. The same guy once built a miniature wall around Trump's star, complete with a couple strands of "razor" wire, and other people periodically have tried to obliterate it with pick axes. One guy spray painted a mute symbol over Trump's cherished star.

Guess the guy who did the bars must have an inkling about what's in store for Trump if the Democrats take over Congress and he gets impeached. Or if that New York investigation results in criminal charges being brought.

On a more serious note, it was reported today by The New York Times that Rob Rosenstein, the deputy attorney general and Special Counsel Robert Mueller's boss, suggested last year that he should secretly record Trump in the White House to expose the chaos consuming the administration.

Rosenstein reportedly discussed trying to convince cabinet members to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove the president from office for being unfit.

Of course, the Times article tracks with the anonymous op-ed by a high Trump administration official that said some cabinet members had considered invoking the 25th Amendment.

According to the Times, Rosenstein was only two weeks in his job in the spring of 2017 when this incident occurred. It followed Trump’s firing of James B. Comey as F.B.I. director and the resulting White House turmoil.

"Over the ensuing days, the president divulged classified intelligence to Russians in the Oval Office, and revelations emerged that Mr. Trump had asked Mr. Comey to pledge loyalty and end an investigation into a senior aide," The Times article recalled.

Today, Rosenstein denied ever trying to push for the 25th Amendment and said there is no reason that it's needed.

Can't wait for the Trump tweet storm that's sure to hit. You can bet we'll be treated to a whole new round of claims about the Russian "witch hunt," "fake news," the media being "the enemy of the people", "anonymous sources," and how he doesn't really have an attorney general. Rosenstein, of course, appointed Mueller to run the Russia investigation after Sessions recused himself -- an act that infuriated Trump.

All of this is crazy, of course. Unfortunately, though, it's the crazy reality facing us all these days.

I want to know what will anger Trump more: the bars over his star or the fact that insiders in his administration apparently think he's so unfit for office that the 25th Amendment needs to be invoked. My bet is it's the bars over the star.
