More Health Care Lies

The Nov. 6 elections are critical to continued heath care coverage for millions of Americans, including the elderly and the poor.

President Trump would have you to believe that Democrats, if they control Congress, would gut Medicare and that only he and the Republicans can save it -- an absolute bold-faced lie.

He also tweeted that all Republicans support providing coverage for preexisting conditions -- an other absolute bold-faced lie.

Let's look at the facts.

It is the Republicans, supported by Trump, who have repeatedly tried to privatize Medicare by giving everyone a voucher worth x-amount of money to pay for health care coverage in the private sector. When that money runs out, you would be up the creek without a paddle, so to speak.

That's been a favorite mantra of outgoing House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI), and fortunately it has not gained enough support even in the nutcase-right-wing controlled House of Representatives to pass. But one of these days, if they have the votes, that idea will be back and future generations of seniors will be screwed.

Now, to pre-existing condition coverage.

Where is that coverage guaranteed? The Affordable Care Act (ACA). Obamacare. That government program enacted when President Obama was in office that Republicans and Trump have railed against for years. And Sen. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) is now saying that if Republicans retain control they will make yet another attempt to repeal the ACA.

Should they succeed, there goes coverage for pre-existing conditions. There goes Medicaid coverage for millions of the poor.

But what did Trump just tweet out today?

“All Republicans support people with pre-existing conditions, and if they don’t, they will after I speak to them. I am in total support.” And then he he claimed that it is Democrats who “will destroy your Medicare, and I will keep it healthy and well.”

I have one thing to say.

Trump, you are a lying sack of s--t.
