QaNON: Trump Supporters Who Think Democrats Eat Little Kids

Apparently there is a growing movement of right-wing wackos who falsely believe that the world is run by a Satanic cabal led by Hillary Clinton, and that President Donald Trump and Special Counsel Robert Mueller are secretly working in tandem to destroy it.

These people are part of a movement called “QAnon,” which is attacking Democrats and liberals with crazy, false theories and accusations, and which The Washington Post calls "a deranged conspiracy cult." Some even contend that liberals and Democrats eat little children.

These crazies believe there is a "deep state" cabal working within the federal government to take down President Trump via a coup led by former President Barack Obama, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and George Soros, a prominent international supporter of democratic ideals and causes who the right loves to hate.

Some QAnon cultists also believe some liberals and Democrats are involved in a grotesque child sex trafficking ring. Moreover, a new book, "QAnon: An Invitation to the Great Awakening", claims some prominent Democrats eat children.

Either there are a lot of hopelessly deranged and insane people out there or thousands of people are willing to pay to find out who would eat children, because the book has become a best seller on Amazon cracking the top 75 among books recently sold on the site.

Shawn Langlois, writing for MarketWatch, says the book claims to have been written by a dozen anonymous Q followers, decoders and citizen journalists known as "Where We Go One We Go All (WWG1GA)." It claims Democrats murder and eat children and that the government created AIDS, polio and Lyme disease -- and that the world is run by a Satanic cabal led by Clinton.

Why am I writing about these nutcases?

Because a huge crowd of QAnon people joined the rally for President Trump in Grand Rapids Thursday night. Tweeted NBC News' (Trump's favorite) Ben Collins, "Write off the sheer prevalence of the QAnon cult at your own risk. I've been covering QAnon for a year, and the amount of pro-Q people in this video from yesterday's Trump rally line in Grand Rapids is absolutely shocking. This is just a portion of it."

The video Collins referred to is at the top of this page.

I've never given the "deep state" conspiracy theory any credence except to understand that it's a belief held by many devoted Trump supporters, some of whom have referred to it when disagreeing with some of my blogs about Trump. But I have to say, this QAnon stuff is frightening.

Are there really people out there who believe this stuff?

What the hell?
