The GOP's BS about Gas Prices

The Lean to the Left podcast is now streaming; a couple days earlier than planned, but I just couldn't wait to share this episode with you.

You know, the Republicans have been trying to blame President Biden for the recent surge in gasoline prices, so I figured we needed to see if that was really true. Could the president and his policies actually be to blame?

Or is that just so much fake news coming out of the increasingly desperate folks in the GOP?

We all know, having lived through the trauma of the Covid-19 pandemic, that we need to trust the science -- and the scientists. That's true with Covid, it's true with climate change, and it's true with energy prices, as well.

Jack Kerfoot (left) explains that supply & demand, not politics, determine the price of gas at the pump.

So, who better to turn to than Jack Kerfoot, a scientist, energy expert and author of FUELING AMERICA: An Insider’s Journey. We previously talked with Jack about alternative energy and wind power, and that episode is now available for listening. I’m all about getting the facts and finding out what’s true and what’s not. So I asked Kerfoot, should we blame President Byden for the fact that we’re paying more at the pump? After all, a local bartender here in South Carolina, where I live, said it's all because of "Uncle Joe."

Kerfoot's answer? "That's just so much fake news."

For the complete story, his science-based reasoning, and a forward-looking discussion about electric vehicles and what we can soon expect, take a listen to the episode. I'd really appreciate it, too, if you'd follow my podcast, which you can find on most major podcast streaming channels.
